Emirates cabinet ratified in March 2008 on a plan to construct national organization specialized in implementing its peaceful nuke programme in coordination with the International Atomic Energy Agency which will manage the technical issues during the construction of the nuke facilities essential to this programme.

The cabinet also allocated primary budget to this project estimated by 100 million Dollars hence, raising the controversy about the reasons and motives behind the Gulf countries’ trend to possess the nuke energy for peaceful purposes especially in light of possessing more than half of the global oil reserves and 40% of natural gas reserves.
